The Peacoats

The Peacoats are playing at INDIE NIGHT on Saturday, July 30, 2011 (8PM to Midnight), opening for Emily Wells. Like what you hear? Then come listen at the Sierra Inn's T-Bar!

The Peacoats are one of the most promising up and coming musical acts of this year, having been described as "a breath of fresh air" and a "must-have" for any live venue. Their catchy original lyrics and soulful harmonies produce a unique sound that will instantly captivate you. Spencer & Amanda Myers are the Peacoats' 20-something brother/sister duo that bring their distinct style and love of music to the stage. They infuse new and familiar tunes with their energy and originality, their playlist ranging from acoustically simple to rock-techno masterpieces.

Spencer is has played piano for over 15 years and is a musical genius in programming the background tracks for their live set. Amanda has always been the muse with her charismatic dance and percussion that is electrifying and contagious. The Peacoats are on a quest for a new sound that is anything but "the norm." Their arrangements, melodies, and duets are passionate and controversial, combining life-experiences with fantasy. The live mix of keyboard, dynamic percussion, and harmonies create electrifying tracks that leave audiences wondering in amazement how much sound and energy can come from just two musicians on stage. Their show is one not only to listen to, but to experience.

The Peacoats lead the charge in a vivid scene that's youthful and energetic. Sierra Magazine has labeled them as "Mammoth's original indie band." Their huge success and rapidly growing fan base has taken over the Eastern Sierra and beyond. Stay tuned for their full-length album to be released in two stages as separate 6-track EP's, The Howling Wind & The Snowy Wood, coming together as a 12-track album with bonus tracks by the end of 2011. The Peacoats' electro-folk sound is undeniably upbeat and will positively leave you wanting more
