Bonnie Murray Tamblyn & Blue Heaven

Lets rock to the tunes of Bonnie Murray Tamblyn & Blue Heaven! Come see them play at JUNE MOUNTAIN on Friday, July 29, 2011 (3:30PM to 6:30PM) at THE GREAT OUTDOORS CONCERT.

Bonnie Murray Tamblyn has been an artistic driving force in Eastern Sierra for over 30 years. Her artistic resume includes working with young students, directing art and music, to conceiving and producing the June Lake Loop Mountain Music Festival. Still known as the Rainbow Girl, Bonnie with her band, Blue Heaven, was one of the original folk rock groups to play in the Eastern Sierra, inspiring others to follow their dreams as artists. Bonnie also tours nationally with her daughter, poet-actress Amber Tamblyn, performing poetry & music in a highly acclaimed daughter & mother duo.

Bonnie has performed with her band Blue Heaven since the 1960s, members of which now include Rick Huhnke & Bill Brumback (both original members of the band) and TopangaBonnie Murray Tamblyn blues artist Johnny (Blue) Albert. This year, Bonnie is recording a new album with Blue Heaven that will feature the new High Sierra favorite, Sierra Belle. CD will be available at the 2011 LOOP music festival.

Through every breath and with every lyric, Bonnie celebrates the beauty and the majesty of her beloved High Sierra with musical treasures such as “Mountain Man,” “Tiger Bar,” and “The Bad Man from Bodie.”

In 2007, performances by Bonnie and Blue Heaven were featured in a documentary film, “Reunion” produced by Rebel Asylum Pictures. Tamblyn also composed the theme song for cable show “Easy Way Gourmet” and as well as country hit “When I’m Gone,” performed by Dottsy.

Every act in the LOOP festival has a special place in Bonnie's heart, as each performer is a member of her extended musical family.
