The June Lake Loop ( Highway 158 in Mono County ) happily presents the second annual Mountain Music Festival. This year’s festival expands its repertoire to include country, folk, honky tonk, classic and alternative rock, fine local talents, and a visit by garage rock legends The Standells. The inhabitants of this laid back village are all fired up and ready for another great festival with incredible music, food, dancing and fun in the scenic High Sierra. The June Lake Loop is the jewel of the High Sierra. The June Lake Loop has remained a village community since the early 1900s and a hidden treasure for those tourists who long for a pleasant pace in a beautiful environment. This historic community offers fishing, hiking, horse-back riding, swimming, fine dinning, 2 famous pubs and a world-class spa - all this available within a 20 minute scenic drive along the 2 lane highway 158. This gentle road meanders by four gorgeous alpine lakes - no traffic signals or clock towers to block the beautiful views. Now, with its very own Music Festival, June Lake may be on the back road, but it’s definitely on the map as a place to visit and enjoy. This Festival is inspired by the extraordinarily rich and long-lasting bond between the locals and visitors to June Lake over the past 40 years. Music has always been in the heart of The Loop, with impromptu concert gatherings springing up in the meadows, in the pubs, and in the parking lots - and now it is finally official! This event is spearheaded by the Sierra Inn's Candy Logue along with childhood friend and musician, Bonnie Tamblyn, and the June Lake Loop Mountain Music Festival Association. Profits generated will support "The June Lake Women's Scholarship Fund" and the Write Now Poetry Society. See you on "The Loop!" |
